It is expected that this 15 million would be the required skill development
capacity in skill training itself as a large portion of the employment (as well as
workforce input) would occur in the lower portions of the skill pyramid. This is
also the required skill development capacity as specified in the National Skill
Development Policy.

National Skill India Mission (Nsim) -
ACADEMIC PARTNERSHIP
Academic Participation shall be critical in the following key areas :-
(a)
Teacher and Assessor Training
&
The study conducted by Agencies indicates a requirement of
one million skilled teachers/Assessors to skill the unskilled
youth of India.
&
This large demand for trained and skilled teachers/Assessors
can only be fulfilled by encouraging private academic
participation in this field.
(i)
Private academic players
:- After appropriate accredi-
tation and registration, private academic players can be
associated in skill training, orientation, refresher and
development programmes in Skill enhancement training.
(ii)
Skill Training in collaboration with industry in ‘live’
environment can be arranged through private
participation.
(iii)
Training of Assessors in competency assessment based
on qualification pack/ NOS is another area where private
participation can be sought.
(b)
Academic Content and Curriculum Development
The content /courseware can be entrusted to the private sector, if
they develop the same as per the NOS.
(c)
Skill training provides at schools
3 months Assessment Training Programme will be conducted for
Assessors.
‘’National Qualifying Assessor Certificates’’- will be
given, to the successful participants.
(d)
Universities/ Research institute/Poly Technics/ITI etc
(e)
Sector skill under NSDC
