Sree Buddha College of Engineering is a self-financing engineering college under Sree Buddha Foundations, Kollam. This college is located in Elavumthitta of Pathanamthitta District and is affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Kerala Technological University. Sree Buddha College of Engineering, Pattoor (Alapuzha District), Sree Buddha Central School, Karunagappally and Sree Buddha Central School, Pattoor are some of the Centres of Excellence Associated by the Foundation. Currently, there are four engineering streams in this college: Electrical and electronics engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Electronics and Communication Engineering. It is with this abundant experience and expertise that Sree Buddha Foundation started Sree Buddha College of Engineering to provide opportunities for students to strengthen their knowledge and develop skills necessary for lifelong learning in the contemporary technological global community, thus enabling them to become global leaders. Through a search for truth, discovery and sharing of knowledge, development of leadership skills, service to others, presentation of quality educational programs – created by responsible faculty, staff and administrators – students will be well prepared for intellectual, ethical and career challenges.

Admissions

 

  • 50% seats are earmarked for admission under Government quota by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations. Admissions to the remaining 50% seats are done by the Management, based on the score at Common Entrance Examination conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination and the marks scored for Physics, chemistry and Mathematics at the Plus Two examination. It includes the NRI seats also.
  • Applications are also invited for admission to the second year of B.Tech. Degree course, under Lateral Entry Scheme (Lapsed Seats).

  • No Capitation is levied. Admission is strictly on the basis of merit.

Facilities

 

The College is affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University and the courses are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education. The College is managed by Sree Buddha Foundation, Kollam. This technical institution is developed by blending the concepts of Lord Buddha: Kindness, Humanism and Equality – with the modern trends in the field of technology. 
It is an arcadia for students, a place where young men&women are educated, celebrated and developed into global professionals for twenty first century. Our intention is to help the students discover their purpose, embrace their dreams and possibilities, and move forward, with distinction, into the ever-changing world. College Library

 

The Central Library and knowledge centre is one of the most important academic facilities provided to the students, faculty and non-teaching staff. The library includes a good number of books in the field of engineering and allied subjects and it also has an impressive collection of leading national and international periodicals including the e- journals. Library has a sufficiently large reading hall which can accommodate 200 students at a time. The centre aims to facilitate acquisition and dissemination of information and knowledge in all areas of engineering education among the academic community. The library subscribes important national dailies and weeklies in addition to 33 National and 18 International journals including IEEE, J-Gate, Access Eng Library, AFCE, Spectrum, Springer, ASTM Digital Library etc. It has a separate collection of prescribed textbooks for the exclusive use of students. All the library activities are computerized. Each student can borrow three books from the Library subject to the Library rules. The library also provides reprographic facilities like photocopying. The library is open from 8 am to 6 pm.

The library follows an open access and covers following subjects:

Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Civil Engineering, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Humanities and good collection of general books.

Facilitates access to online journals like IEEE, ASCE, SCIENCE DIRECT, J-GATE ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY, ACCESS LIBRARY (e-books), ASTM DIGITL LIBRARY and printing facility.

Language Lab

 

The Language Lab of Sree Buddha College is well equipped with 35-40 systems for the convenient working of every student. The structured software installed is self-explanatory with lots of work exercises .In addition to the books and oral work in class, the Language Lab works with the sole vision to equip the students with better linguistic skills, brush up their vocabulary , pronunciation and so also to ensure better interaction with people in today’s competitive world.

 

Students Hostel

 

The Hostel is situated inside the campus in a well-secured environment. The proximity of the hostel with the library enhances the opportunity of the hostel residents for Library usage. The planned capacity of the hostel is 300 beds. All the rooms have vitrified tile flooring. The kitchen is very modern and the cooks are all experienced. The residents are looked after by a full-time Deputy Warden. Every effort is taken to make life in the hostel as homely as possible. However, use of mobile phones is prohibited in the campus, including the hostel. Instead, residents may use the coin phone provided inside the hostel.

A stationery store is opened in the college campus, from where students can purchase Text Books and other stationery items for their day-to-day requirements and academic activities.

Due attention will be given to the health and physical fitness of the students. The age old adage that ‘A sound mind in a sound body’ is more relevant in today’s world and heavy stress and high competition. . The College will provide adequate facilities for sports and games .

 

Class Rooms

 

The class rooms are all very spacious and the area is much more than the specification of the AICTE. Lecture halls and Laboratories are well connected with Public Address System and facilities are provided for power point presentation.

 

Computer Centre

The computer centre is equipped with 60 terminals and necessary peripherals and adequate number of educational software.34Mbps ILL connections are available in the campus. .
