IIM's for the first time announces CAT REGISTRATION 2016
Registration begins Aug 8, exam on Dec 4
The online registration portal of CAT 2016 will be open on August 8, 2016 from 10.00 am.
Last date for fillingand submitting the CAT Application Form 2016 is till 5.00 pm on September 22, 2016.
For the first time IIM Bangalore will be conducting the test. CAT 2016 will be held on December 4, 2016.
The form will be available only in online mode on the official website of IIM-CAT that is at www.iimcat.ac.in

CAT Eligibility Criteria are as follows:
Education Required
Aspirants who have been completed Graduation with minimum 50% for GEN, and 45% for SC/ST/OBC, can apply for this session as per official requirements.
Application fee
The amount of application fee has been increased this year Rs. 850 for reserved category and Rs.1700 for others.
Reservation of seats:
The seat reservation of CAT exam it is not fix and can vary as per the requirement:
- SC Candidates : 15%
- ST Candidates : 7.5%
- OBC Candidates : 27%
- PWD Candidates : 3%
Selection Process:
Selection is purely on the basis of marks secured in written ability test, group discussion, interview.
CAT 2016 Exam Patten
Aspirants must know about Common Admission Test (CAT) Exam Pattern to get aware of how the paper comes with total questions and marks so that you can prepare your mind according to it. CAT Paper consist of 100 questions and the time limit to answer all the question is 2 hours and 50 mins. Negative marking applicable
How to Apply?
Applicants can apply for CAT Entrance by sending online application available in the official website of IIM-CAT that is at www.iimcat.ac.in.. Fill the online form carefully with all the details asked in the official publication and send it before the last date. Procedure to fill form online:
- Log on to the official website of the organization www.iimcat.ac.in.
- Open CAT 2016 notification link.
- Fill the details required.
- Enter payment detail upload your recent passport size photograph and signature.
- After completion of the form press submit button and send your form for submission.
- You can take a printout for future use.
Any graduate having 50% marks or equivalent CGPA can apply for the test.

- Publication of official notification: June 2016
- Starting date for online registration: August 2016
- Closing date to apply online: September 2016
- Issue of Admit Card: October 2016

Publication of result: December 2016
Last year, 218664 candidates registered for CAT and out of this only 179602 candidates took the test.
