Master of Public Health is a postgraduate Medicine course. Public Health is a branch of medicine concerned with the prevention and control of disease and disability, and the promotion of physical and mental health of the population on the international, national, state, or municipal level. The program is aimed at developing public health administrators with expertise in related areas of community health including disease characteristics, their prevention and control, management in crisis situations, forecast strategic disease prevention policies, quality assurance and regulatory affairs. The main focus of this program is to emphasize on preventive measures that pose a threat to public health than treatment that has become a focal point in the current global scenario. The duration of the course is two years and its syllabus is divided into four semesters.
