HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

In 1984, some automobile workshop workers in Ernakulam met under the leadership of Shri Mathew Kattappuram and decided to create an organization for the workshop. As a result, in 1984, the first meeting was held at Mercy Tourist Homes in Ernakulam. A Governing Body comprising 12 persons for the functional facilities. The association was established in 1985 as per the registration order ER/355/85.

Since 1997, the committee members decided to include cooperative workers as members of the organization and have been asked to implement insurance for their welfare activities. Despite the fact that many districts in Kerala have their own office; the state committee has no office. Up to April 2000, the office was functioning at Seaway Cars Automobiles in Alappat Cross Road, Ernakulam.

Only because of the financial support of the loan and the coupons in the trust of the State Executive, they were able to build such a huge building within the town of Ernakulam. The office was inaugurated in 2000 on the day of annual celebration of the association at Elamkulam by the then Minister of Electricity, Shri. S. Sharma.

From July 2009, by law has been changed in a way to improve the welfare of the members by radically transforming the structure of the organization.

Even though there was a scarcity of fund to rebuild the office, on December 2012, they built a three-storey building within 9000 Sq.ft.

On 07.04.2013, State headquarters was inaugrated by then Hon'ble Minister for Excise and Ports Shri. K. Babu.

Honorable Cochin Mayor Shri. Tony Chemmanni, MLAs Shri. Dominic Presentation, Shri. Benny Bahannan, TVS Technical Manager Shri. Divakara Reddy, Councilor Sri. Sojan Antony and many others praised the organization. All members of 14 districts also participated.

The 29th State Representative Assembly was held on 28.09.2014 and the new office bearers were also elected.
