The five years duration also includes the apprenticeship which is usually in the last semester, which has to be done under a practicing architect. The B.Arch. (Building & Construction Management) degree program often combines the study of architecture, construction, liberal arts, mathematics, and science technology courses.

How is B.Arch. Building & Construction Management Course Beneficial?

  • The B.Arch. (Building & Construction Management) degree holders are readily accepted into the architecture and building & construction industry, both into government organizations as well as private property development and building companies.
  • They should have design and build companies, civil engineering contractors, building and project management companies or consultancies.

  • They can go for further higher studies such as Master degree and then for research work.

Eligibility

  • The basic eligibility criteria for pursuing a B.Arch. (Building & Construction Management) degree is qualifying 10+2 or equivalent examination, with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with a reasonably high percentage of marks (minimum 50%) in the aggregate and clearing the different national and state level entrance exams such as Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) etc, conducted by different universities and colleges across the country.
  • Besides the entrance exam, one another exam i.e. National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is conducted by the National Institute of Advanced Studies in Architecture (NIASA), Pune, which is a body of Council of Architecture (CoA). National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is essential for getting admissions to the B.Arch. degree course at the major institutes or colleges of Architecture such as the NITs, IITs, etc. across the country.
  • Selection to the B.Arch. (Building & Construction Management) degree course is based on marks secured in the final merit i.e. total marks aggregated in the final exams of 10+2 and the entrance exams.
  • A Joint entrance Exam (JEE) is conducted by Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) in the country. The entrance to the IITs can be secured only after clearing this JEE.
  • An examination is also conducted by the Associate Membership of the Institute of Engineers (AMIE), which enables working people in the private/public sector and diploma holders to acquire a Bachelor's degree in Architecture (Building & Construction Management) through distance education.
