B.Voc in Ophthalmology is an undergraduation course which is a specialized branch of medicine that deals with the Anatomy, Physiology and diseases of the eye.Ophthalmology field requires a lot of skills owing to the diversity of the specialty. This field needed surgical, medical and patient care skills range from paediatric to geriatric population.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Voc in Ophthalmology
 

• Students who completed plus two and one year of BSS Diploma course in Ophthalmic Assistant is eligible to get direct admission to the second year of B. Voc course (3rd semester)

• Those who qualified SSLC and one year of BSS Diploma course in Ophthalmic Assistant are eligible to get  admission to the B. Voc course.

 
Course Duration

• Three years for those who enter into the course generally.

• Candidates who completed BSS diploma course are possible to get admission through lateral entry scheme (For further reference check Eligibility criteria section)

Skills required

• The ability to communicate effectively and empathically with patients – eye problems can cause a considerable degree of anxiety

• excellent manual dexterity, good hand-eye co-ordination and good vision

• excellent organisational and time management skills

• good problem-solving and decision-making skills

• the ability to work well within multidisciplinary teams

• a willingness to work with constantly changing technologies
