B.Voc in Phlebotomy is an undergraduate course which is more than just taking blood. Phlebotomy course, in addition to teaching collection techniques, prepare you for emergencies and help you understand proper laboratory procedures in order to avoid contamination or infection of yourself and others. Accredited phlebotomist technician programs will teach you all of the necessary techniques and procedures you’ll need to be a competent and skilled phlebotomist.

 

Eligibility Criteria for B.Voc in Phlebotomy


 

  • Students who completed plus two and two year of BSS Diploma course in Phlebotomy is eligible to get direct admission to the third year of B. Voc course (5th semester)

  • Those who qualified SSLC and two year of BSS Diploma course in Phlebotomy are eligible to get direct admission to the second year of B. Voc course (3rd semester)


Course Duration
 

  • Three years for those who enter into the course generally.

  • Candidates who completed BSS diploma course are possible to get admission through lateral entry scheme (For further reference check Eligibility criteria section)

 

What Does a Phlebotomy Technician Do?

 

  • draw blood specimens by venipuncture, syringe and micro-collection techniques

  • collect and process other clinical specimens

  • prepare samples for laboratory testing and analysis

  • assemble and maintain medical instruments such as needles, test tubes, blood vials, and centrifuges
