Acupressure is a form of Chinese medical practice which uses pressure to the important parts of the body and stimulates a person’s self-healing abilities.

Acupressure uses similar techniques which are used in Acupuncture. However, students in acupressure classes learn to use finger pressure instead of needles to relieve pain and help clients achieve greater health. This course is a part of the massage therapy.  

Eligibility Criteria for B. Voc in Acupressure

• Students who have completed plus two are eligible to get admission in the B.Voc course generally.

• Those who have qualified SSLC and completed one year of BSS Master Diploma course in Acupressure are eligible to get admission to the of B. Voc course.

• Students who have completed Plus two and one year of BSS Master Diploma course in Acupressure are eligible to get direct admission to the second year of B. Voc course (3^rd  semester).

Course Duration

• Three years for those who enter into the course generally.

• Candidates who have completed relevant and equivalent course are possible to get admission through lateral entry scheme (For further reference check Eligibility criteria section).

Duties & Responsibilities of an Acupressure Therapist

• Carefully listening to the problems of the patient

• Examining and diagnosing patient's symptoms, physiological disorders and injuries

• Taking patient's medical history, their physical and emotional health, lifestyle and diet as well as sometimes taking their blood pressure

• After diagnosing the exact problem, they explain to patients about the treatment they will perform and answer any questions patients may have

• Keeping records of treatment given to each patient.

• Recommend therapeutic exercise or dietary guidelines to the patients

• Excellent communication skills to generate new clientele

• Organizational/leadership skills

• Readiness to work hard

• They should be well aware of the body senses

•  They should be able to make their clients feel comfortable before and after the session
