Electronics & Communication Engineering is one of the popular branches of Engineering in India and this course is offered at the under graduation level as B.E. Electronics & Communication Engineering in some colleges, while it is offered as B. Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering in  some colleges.The academic program is divided into 8 semesters. Each semester lasts for a period of 6 months. Evaluation is done at the end of each semester. The course consists of classroom lectures and practical lab sessions. Industrial visit and training program is present in this course. In the case of final academic year, project work will also be involved.

Eligibility for admission to B.E/B. Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering course:

Candidates who have completed their higher secondary education with mathematics, chemistry and physics subjects from a recognized board of education are eligible to seek admission to the B.E/B. Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering Course offered by Government Colleges in India.

Entrance Examination:

In addition to the aforesaid educational qualification, candidates must also get through the All India Engineering Entrance Examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education or the respective state entrance examination conducted by the state government in which the college is located.

Higher studies after B.E/B. Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering:

A wide range of higher studies options is available to the students who have completed their degree course in Electronics & Communication Engineering. They can take up Master of Technology in any of the following branches of engineering:

  •  Electronics & Communication Engineering
  • Power electronics
  •  Electronic design and technology

Apart from these M. Tech branches, candidates can also take up MBA/MCA in their desired specialization after completion of the Electronics & Communication Engineering course at the UG level.

Career options after B.E/B. Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering:

A candidate who has completed his B.E/B. Tech electronics & communication engineering can find enormous job openings in software and electronics companies. Since most of the electronics device need the interface of software to communicate with each other, the role of electronics & communication engineers in both these industries is crucial. Candidates can also find placement opportunities in research and development field thereby involving themselves in the discovery of new devices.
