Indian Army NCC Special Entry Scheme 2025:

The Indian Army has released the official notification

for the NCC Special Entry Scheme 58th Course (Oct 2025) for granting Short Service Commission (Non-Tech)

to unmarried men and women, including wards of battle casualties of Army personnel.

The notification was published on www.joinindianarmy.nic.in, and the online application process will begin on 

14 February 2025 and close on 15 March 2025.

Eligible candidates can apply for the NCC Special Entry Scheme 2025 through the official website.

The total vacancies for this course are 76, with 70 vacancies for men and 6 for women.

Scheme 2025 Selection Process

The selection process for the NCC Special Entry Scheme 2025 includes the following stages:

  1. Online Application: Candidates must apply online through the official website.
  2. Shortlisting: Based on graduation percentage and NCC ‘C’ Certificate.
  3. SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates will undergo a 5-day SSB interview.
  4. Medical Examination: Candidates recommended by the SSB will undergo a medical examination.
  5. Merit List: Final selection will be based on SSB performance and medical fitness.

The Indian Army NCC Special Entry Scheme is a recruitment process for candidates who have been part of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and wish to join the Indian Army as Short Service Commissioned (SSC) Officers. Here are the details of the job role and eligibility:

Job Role

  • Candidates selected through NCC Special Entry join the Indian Army as Lieutenant (Rank: Commissioned Officer) in the Permanent Commission (PC) or Short Service Commission (SSC).
  • They are posted in various Army branches such as Infantry, Artillery, Engineers, Signals, etc.
  • Officers are responsible for commanding troops, handling strategic operations, and leading in combat/non-combat roles.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen.
  2. Age Limit: 19 to 25 years.
  3. Educational Qualification:
    • Graduate in any discipline with at least 50% marks.
    • Must have served for two years in the Senior Division/Wing of NCC.
    • Hold a valid 'B' or 'C' Certificate of NCC (with at least a ‘B’ grade in 'C' Certificate).
  4. Physical Standards: Must meet the prescribed physical and medical fitness requirements.

Selection Process

  1. Shortlisting: Based on marks and NCC certificate.
  2. SSB Interview: Selected candidates are called for a 5-day Services Selection Board (SSB) Interview.
  3. Medical Examination: Candidates who clear the SSB go through a medical fitness test.
  4. Final Merit List: Based on SSB performance and medical clearance.

Training & Career Progression

  • Training is conducted at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai for 49 weeks.
  • After successful completion, candidates are granted Short Service Commission (SSC).
  • They serve for 10 years (extendable to 14 years) and may apply for Permanent Commission based on performance.
