Job Role: Field Supervisor
Field Supervisors at PGCIL are engaged in project execution, monitoring, and supervision of construction work across transmission and substation projects. This is a contractual role, typically for a fixed term (like 24 months, extendable based on project requirements).
Key Responsibilities:
Project Supervision & Monitoring
- Overseeing site construction activities related to transmission lines, substations, and associated infrastructure.
- Ensuring work is carried out as per the approved design, specifications, and safety norms.
- Coordinating with contractors and ensuring timely execution of work.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Monitoring quality of materials used at site and ensuring adherence to PGCIL standards.
- Conducting regular site inspections and maintaining records of work progress and quality.
Safety Compliance
- Enforcing safety measures at construction sites.
- Conducting safety briefings for workers and ensuring all works comply with POWERGRID's safety standards.
Coordination & Reporting
- Liaising with engineers, contractors, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Preparing and submitting daily/weekly progress reports to the higher authorities.
- Identifying bottlenecks and suggesting corrective actions.
Technical Support
- Providing on-site technical guidance to workers and contractors.
- Assisting in resolving technical issues during execution.
Domain-specific Tasks
Field Supervisor (Electrical)
- Supervising erection and commissioning of transmission lines & substations (cables, transformers, switchgear, etc.).
- Testing and commissioning assistance.
- Monitoring electrical safety standards.
Field Supervisor (Civil)
