MPPSC Food Safety Officer Notification 2025 Age Limit

  • Minimum Age Limit: 21 Years
  • Maximum Age limit: 40 Years

Qualification

  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in one of the following fields: Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Biotechnology, Oil Technology, Agricultural Science, Veterinary Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemistry, or Medicine. The degree must be obtained from a recognized university or institute to meet the required qualifications for the position.

Job Role of a Food Safety Officer

  1. Inspection and Monitoring

    • Conduct regular inspections of food processing plants, restaurants, and food establishments.
    • Monitor hygiene and sanitation standards in food handling, preparation, and storage.
    • Collect food and water samples for laboratory testing.
  2. Compliance and Enforcement

    • Ensure compliance with food safety laws and regulations.
    • Identify violations and take corrective measures, including issuing fines or closure notices.
    • Provide guidelines for improving food safety practices.
  3. Testing and Analysis

    • Analyze test reports of food samples for contamination, adulteration, and spoilage.
    • Investigate foodborne illnesses and outbreaks.
    • Ensure the proper disposal of contaminated or expired food products.
  4. Training and Awareness

    • Educate food business operators (FBOs) about food safety regulations and best practices.
    • Conduct workshops and training sessions for staff on food hygiene and safety protocols.
  5. Documentation and Reporting

    • Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and violations.
    • Prepare reports for higher authorities and government bodies.
    • Document corrective actions taken to address non-compliance issues.
  6. Policy and Strategy Development

    • Assist in developing and implementing food safety policies.
    • Recommend improvements in food safety regulations and enforcement strategies.
  7. Liaison and Communication

    • Coordinate with government agencies, food industry stakeholders, and public health authorities.
    • Respond to public complaints and concerns regarding food safety.

Skills and Qualifications Required

 Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related field
 Knowledge of food safety laws and regulations (e.g., FSSAI in India)
 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
 Excellent communication and report-writing abilities
 Ability to handle pressure and make quick decisions
 Attention to detail and a proactive approach
