Qualification
- Qualified in 10+2 with Mathematics & Physics from Boards of School Education recognized by Ministry of Education
- Passed Three years diploma course in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Automobiles/ Computer Science/ Instrumentation Technology/ Information Technology) from Central, State and UT recognized Polytechnic Institute with 50% marks in aggregate.
- Passed Two years Vocational Course with Non-vocational subject viz, Physics and Mathematics from Education Boards recognized by Central, State and UT with 50% marks in aggregate.
Pay
As per Agnipath Scheme (Rs. 30,000 – Rs. 40,000 per month with benefits)
Eligibility Criteria:

Agniveer (SSR): Candidates, both male and female, aged between 17½ to 21 years, must have completed the 10+2 examination with Mathematics, Physics, and at least one of these subjects: Chemistry, Biology, or Computer Science, from recognized educational boards.

Agniveer (MR): Applicants should have passed the Matriculation Examination from boards recognized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The age criteria typically align with those of the SSR entry.
Selection Process:

Stage I – Shortlisting (Indian Navy Entrance Test - INET): Candidates undergo the INET, a computer-based examination assessing subjects relevant to the specific entry.

Stage II – Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Written Examination, and Recruitment Medical Examination: Shortlisted candidates from Stage I participate in PFT, followed by a written examination and a comprehensive medical evaluation to ensure fitness for naval duties.

Tenure: Agniveers are enrolled under the Navy Act 1957 for a four-year period. This rank is distinct within the Armed Forces.

Post-Tenure Opportunities: After four years, Agniveers may apply for permanent enrollment in the Indian Navy. Selection is competitive, with up to 25% of each batch considered based on performance and organizational needs.

Seva Nidhi Package: Upon completion of the tenure, Agniveers receive a one-time 'Seva Nidhi' package, approximately ₹10.04 lakh, which is tax-free.

Life Insurance Cover: Agniveers are provided with a non-contributory life insurance cover of ₹48 lakh during their service period.
The Indian Navy's Agniveer recruitment offers two primary roles: Agniveer (SSR) and Agniveer (MR), each with distinct responsibilities
1. Agniveer (SSR) – Senior Secondary Recruit:
- General Duties: Agniveer (SSR) personnel are trained to perform various tasks on modern naval platforms, including aircraft carriers, guided missile destroyers, frigates, and submarines. Their duties encompass operations, maintenance, and administrative roles essential for naval missions.
- Eligibility: Candidates must have completed the 10+2 examination with subjects including Mathematics, Physics, and at least one of Chemistry, Biology, or Computer Science.
2. Agniveer (MR) – Matric Recruit:
- Chef: Responsible for preparing meals as per menu (vegetarian and non-vegetarian), managing ration accounting, and handling related duties.
- Steward: Tasked with serving food in the officers' messes, managing housekeeping, accounting for funds, wine, and stores, and performing related duties.
- Hygienist: Ensures cleanliness and hygiene in washrooms and other areas.
- Eligibility: Candidates should have passed the Matriculation Examination from boards recognized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
