BOI FLC Counsellor Notification 2025 Age Limit

  • Age limit: Not more than 64 Years
  • Age relaxation is applicable as per rules.

Qualification

  • Retired bank officers (on Superannuation or VRS with age not more than 64 years as on 01.03.2025) preferably having a background of rural credit and branch exposure.

Salary

  • Presently Rs.18,000/- per month conditions apply
  • The monthly consolidated remuneration is Rs.18, 000/- per month subject to conduct of minimum 8 outdoor camps per month. An additional sum Rs.500/- to be paid towards telephone expenses on declaration basis.
  • As these counselors are expected to conduct outdoor camps as well, a lump sum expenses of Rs.1500/- be reimbursed in lieu of not providing conveyance, provided they are holding minimum 8 (Eight) such outdoor camps per month.

Job Role:

Financial Literacy Counsellor (FLC)

  • Contractual position (usually for 1 year, renewable based on performance and requirements)

  • Often retired bank officers (preferably scale II and above) or experienced professionals with financial background are eligible.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Promote Financial Literacy:

    • Conduct financial literacy sessions in villages, schools, and community centers.

    • Educate people about banking services, digital banking, government schemes, and financial products.

  2. Individual Counselling:

    • Provide one-on-one guidance to individuals or small groups on financial matters.

    • Address issues like debt management, savings, credit discipline, insurance, etc.

  3. Awareness Campaigns:

    • Organize financial literacy camps, workshops, and awareness drives in coordination with local branches.

    • Use posters, leaflets, and other IEC (Information, Education and Communication) materials.

  4. Liaise with Local Authorities:

    • Coordinate with panchayats, SHGs (Self Help Groups), NGOs, and other stakeholders to reach more people.

  5. Support Government Schemes:

    • Promote and help people access schemes like PMJDY, PMJJBY, PMSBY, APY, etc.

  6. Reporting & Documentation:

    • Maintain proper records of sessions conducted, number of beneficiaries, feedback, etc.

    • Submit monthly/quarterly reports to the Lead Bank Officer or designated nodal officer.

  7. Monitoring & Evaluation:

    • Assess the impact of financial literacy programs and suggest improvements.
