Job Role & Responsibilities:

NCB Inspector:

Rank Equivalent: Similar to a Police Inspector in State Police or equivalent central forces rank (e.g., CBI Inspector).

Key Responsibilities:

1. Investigation of Drug-Related Crimes:

   • Leading investigations into drug trafficking and illegal drug possession.

   • Preparing reports, collecting evidence, and building legal cases.

2. Supervisory Role:

   • Supervises sub-inspectors and field officers.

   • Oversees raid and seizure operations, especially in high-profile cases.

3. Liaison & Coordination:

   • Coordinates with other law enforcement agencies (like Customs, Police, BSF, and Intelligence agencies).

   • Represents NCB at inter-agency meetings.

4. Legal Proceedings:

   • Works with public prosecutors.

   • Prepares case files and sometimes appears in court as a witness.

5. Intelligence Gathering:

   • Collects and verifies actionable intelligence on drug syndicates.

NCB Sub-Inspector:
