 Job Role & Key Responsibilities

Lady Supervisors act as the immediate supervisors of Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) and report directly to the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO). Each supervisor typically oversees approximately 20 Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) . Their core responsibilities include:

1. Supervision & Monitoring

• Regularly visit AWCs to monitor the activities conducted by AWWs.

• Assess the strengths and areas for improvement of AWWs, providing guidance to enhance their performance .

2. Program Implementation

• Ensure the effective delivery of ICDS services, including supplementary nutrition, health check-ups, and preschool education.

• Facilitate the distribution of nutritional supplements to children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers, ensuring dietary requirements are met 

3. Training & Capacity Building

• Conduct training sessions for AWWs to enhance their knowledge and skills.

• Address gaps in training facilities and ensure AWWs are well-equipped to perform their duties .

4. Community Engagement

• Promote awareness about health, nutrition, and hygiene practices within the community.

• Collaborate with local committees to support the implementation of ICDS programs at the village level .

5. Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain accurate records of AWC activities, beneficiary details, and service delivery.

• Submit regular reports to the CDPO, highlighting progress and challenges encountered.
