Job Role: Medical Officer
A Medical Officer in ECHS is responsible for delivering comprehensive medical care services to ex-servicemen and their dependents at ECHS Polyclinics or empanelled hospitals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Primary Medical Care:
- Conduct regular outpatient consultations for ex-servicemen and their dependents.
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions within the scope of general medicine.
- Maintain records of patient history, diagnosis, treatment, and prescriptions.
- Referral Services:
- Refer patients to empanelled specialty hospitals or specialists when advanced or specialized treatment is required.
- Ensure timely and appropriate follow-up care.
- Emergency Medical Services:
- Attend to emergency medical situations at the polyclinic.
- Coordinate with ambulance and referral hospitals during emergencies.
- Medical Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
- Submit timely reports to the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) regarding patient load, treatment provided, and any issues faced.
- Health Education & Preventive Care:
- Educate beneficiaries about hygiene, preventive health care, and lifestyle diseases.
- Conduct health awareness and screening camps as required.
- Coordination and Teamwork:
- Work closely with nursing staff, paramedics, and other ECHS staff for smooth functioning of the polyclinic.
- Attend meetings and training sessions organized by ECHS authorities.
- Compliance:
- Adhere to ECHS protocols, medical ethics, and government healthcare guidelines.
- Ensure medicines and consumables are used as per laid-down procedures and avoid misuse.
