1. Indian Administrative Service (IAS)

2. Indian Police Service (IPS)

  • Responsibilities: Maintaining public order, preventing and investigating crimes, managing traffic and road safety, and handling disaster and crisis situations. 

Group A Services

3. Indian Foreign Service (IFS)

  • Responsibilities: Representing India in foreign nations, managing diplomatic relations, promoting trade and cultural ties, and protecting India's interests abroad.

4. Indian Revenue Service (IRS)

  • Responsibilities: Administering direct and indirect taxes, formulating tax policies, and ensuring compliance with tax laws. 

5. Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IAAS)

  • Responsibilities: Auditing government departments and public sector undertakings, ensuring financial transparency, and reporting on public expenditures. 

6. Indian Information Service (IIS)

  • Responsibilities: Disseminating information about government policies and programs, managing media relations, and overseeing public communication strategies. 

Group B Services

7. Armed Forces Headquarters Civil Service (AFHCS)

  • Responsibilities: Providing administrative support to the Indian Armed Forces and inter-services organizations, functioning under the Ministry of Defence. 

8. Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Civil Service (DANICS)

  • Responsibilities: Managing administrative functions in Delhi and Union Territories, acting as a feeder service to the IAS. 

9. Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Police Service (DANIPS)
