Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Duties:
- Diagnose and treat patients in hospitals, primary health centers (PHCs), community health centers (CHCs), and dispensaries.
- Maintain patient records and medical history.
- Prescribe and administer appropriate treatment and medication.
- Perform minor surgeries or procedures, if required and permitted.
- Public Health Duties:
- Participate in government health programs like immunization, maternal and child health services, TB control, and other national health missions.
- Conduct health awareness and education camps in rural and urban areas.
- Administrative Responsibilities:
- Supervise staff nurses, health workers, and other support personnel.
- Manage the supply and maintenance of medical equipment and medicines.
- Submit regular reports to the District Medical Officer or other authorities.
- Emergency and On-Call Duties:
- Be available for emergency duties including night shifts and weekends.
- Handle medico-legal cases and provide initial treatment to accident or trauma cases.
- Training and Research (Optional / Additional Duties):
- Participate in Continuing Medical Education (CME) and refresher courses.
- Engage in research or surveys if directed by the department.
