CSL ITI Trade Apprentices – Job Role & Responsibilities
1. Practical Training in Trade-Specific Skills
- Learn and perform tasks under the guidance of senior technicians or supervisors.
- Use tools and machinery specific to the trade (e.g., welding torches, cutting machines, fitting tools, etc.).
- Gain hands-on experience in real-time industrial environments.
2. Trade-Wise Key Roles (Examples):
Fitter
- Marking, fitting, and assembling ship components.
- Performing maintenance and repair work on mechanical parts.
Machinist
- Operating lathe and milling machines.
- Precision shaping of metal components.
Welder (Gas & Electric)
- Performing arc and gas welding tasks.
- Joining ship parts and structure fabrication.
Electrician
- Assisting in electrical installations on ships.
- Handling wiring, cable laying, and testing electrical systems.
Mechanic (Motor Vehicle/Diesel/Marine)
- Maintenance of engines and propulsion systems.
- Overhauling shipboard machinery and equipment.
Electronics Mechanic
- Supporting installation and repair of communication/navigation systems.
