NIT Calicut Faculty Job Roles and Responsibilities

1. Teaching and Learning

• Deliver high-quality lectures, tutorials, and laboratory sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Design course structures, prepare lesson plans, and adopt innovative teaching methodologies (including ICT tools).
• Evaluate students' performance through assignments, examinations, and projects.
• Supervise B.Tech/M.Tech/Ph.D. dissertations and student projects.

2. Research and Development

• Conduct independent and collaborative research in your area of expertise.
• Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals, international conferences, and reputed academic forums.
• Supervise and guide Ph.D. and M.Tech scholars.
• Apply for research grants from government and industry bodies (DST, SERB, AICTE, DRDO, etc.).

3. Curriculum and Academic Development

• Participate in the design, development, and revision of academic curriculum as per industry and societal needs.
• Introduce multidisciplinary and emerging subjects into the curriculum.
• Promote outcome-based education (OBE) and accreditation compliance (NBA/NAAC).

4. Institutional Development and Administration

• Contribute to institute activities like:
