Job Role and Responsibilities of Technical Assistant:
- Technical Support:
- Assist in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of medical and laboratory equipment.
- Support research and clinical teams by ensuring the functionality of technical instruments.
- Data Handling & Documentation:
- Record test results accurately and maintain logs of equipment calibration, repairs, and usage.
- Prepare technical reports, SOPs, and assist in documentation required for regulatory compliance.
- Laboratory Assistance:
- Provide assistance in laboratory tests and experiments under the supervision of scientists or senior staff.
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of chemicals, biological samples, and equipment.
- Clinical Support (if posted in clinical units):
- Provide technical support in diagnostic departments like imaging, neurophysiology, or cardiology.
- Help set up and monitor patients during tests like EEG, ECG, MRI, or other procedures.
- Inventory & Resource Management:
- Maintain stock of consumables and ensure timely procurement of technical supplies.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed for handling hazardous materials and equipment.
- Equipment Calibration & Maintenance:
- Regularly calibrate and maintain biomedical instruments and equipment.
- Liaise with vendors and engineers for major repairs and servicing.
- Support in Research Projects:
- Participate in ongoing research and clinical studies by providing technical assistance and data recording.
- Handle bio-samples, prepare reagents, and manage laboratory schedules as per research needs.
- Quality Control & Assurance:
- Assist in maintaining quality assurance standards as per NABL/NABH or other certifications.
- Participate in internal audits and assessments.
