Job Role and Responsibilities:

The District Telecom Executive (DTE) plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing Kerala Fibre Optic Network (KFON) operations at the district level. Their responsibilities include technical coordination, stakeholder management, and ensuring the smooth implementation and maintenance of telecom infrastructure and services.

Key Responsibilities:

1. District-Level Operations Management:
   • Oversee and manage day-to-day KFON operations within the assigned district.
   • Ensure efficient functioning of district network nodes and field operations.
2. Project Implementation:
   • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for timely implementation of fiber optic network projects.
   • Monitor and report progress of installation, commissioning, and testing of network components.
3. Technical Supervision:
   • Supervise technical teams responsible for the installation and maintenance of optical fiber cables, routers, switches, etc.
   • Address network faults and ensure timely resolution of connectivity issues.
4. Stakeholder Coordination:
   • Liaise with local government bodies, service providers, and other stakeholders for smooth execution of KFON initiatives.
   • Conduct regular review meetings and provide updates to senior management.
5. Quality Assurance & Compliance:
   • Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and KFON quality standards.
   • Conduct regular audits and field inspections to verify adherence to SOPs and safety protocols.
6. Documentation & Reporting:
   • Maintain detailed records of infrastructure, assets, and operational status.
   • Prepare periodic reports on district-level performance metrics and submit them to the state office.
7. Customer Service Oversight:
   • Support grievance redressal mechanisms related to telecom services in the district.
   • Ensure timely resolution of complaints from end-users, especially from government institutions and public access points.
8. Capacity Building:
   • Assist in training local staff and field technicians in network operations and maintenance.
   • Promote digital literacy and awareness among local communities.
