Qualification

• No minimum age for Ex-servicemen (pension holders). ESM should get enrolled within five years from the date of retirement/ discharge.
• Candidate enrolled in Ecological TA will serve up to 50 years age for other rank.
• Ex-women employees (including premature retirees) of MoEF& CC and State Forest Department should have rendered minimum service of 20 years in MoEF& CC and State Forest Department & should get enrolled within five years from the date of retirement / discharge.
• Should be in medical cat SHAPE-I.
• Character should be EXEMPLARY / VERY GOOD.
• Should not be involved in any civil/police cases.

Job Roles:

Candidates selected through the 127 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) recruitment rally will be enrolled in one of the following categories:

1. Soldier General Duty (GD)

2. Tradesman (Chef, Washerman, Barber, etc.)

3. Clerk/Store Keeper Technical

4. Soldier Technical (if applicable)

General Responsibilities:

Regardless of the specific category, all Territorial Army personnel are responsible for:

• Serving in support of the regular Indian Army during national emergencies or internal security situations.

• Participating in peacetime civic support like disaster relief, aid to civil authorities, and community welfare.

• Maintaining operational readiness through regular training and drills.

• Ensuring unit discipline and cohesion under the Indian Army regulations.

• Acting as a part-time voluntary reserve force with annual training and periodic service.

Category-wise Specific Responsibilities:

1. Soldier (General Duty):

• Performing infantry duties such as patrolling, security operations, and internal area dominance.

• Engaging in physical training, arms handling, fieldcraft, and combat drills.

• Supporting full-time Army units during active deployments.

2. Tradesman:

• Performing designated trade duties (e.g., cooking, laundry, haircutting, etc.) to support battalion logistics.

• Maintaining hygiene, safety, and supply standards.

• Participating in military training alongside trade duties.

3. Clerk/Store Keeper Technical:

• Maintaining records, ledgers, inventory, and logistics documentation.

• Handling administrative tasks, dispatches, and personnel records.

• Coordinating between different departments for resource planning and accounting.

4. Soldier Technical (if included):

• Maintaining and operating technical equipment like communication devices, vehicles, and weapons.

• Providing technical support during field exercises or combat missions.

• Training in specialized fields such as engineering support, arms maintenance, etc.
