Primary Responsibilities:
- Clinical Care and Patient Management
- Provide round-the-clock medical care to admitted patients in wards, ICUs, and emergency units.
- Assist in diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up under the supervision of senior doctors and consultants.
- Manage day-to-day clinical activities in OPDs and specialty clinics.
- Medical Procedures and Documentation
- Perform routine medical procedures such as cannulation, catheterization, suturing, and sample collection.
- Maintain detailed medical records, case files, and ensure proper documentation in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Prepare discharge summaries, referral notes, and death certificates as applicable.
- Support in Surgeries and Procedures
- Assist surgeons and specialists during operative and diagnostic procedures as per departmental requirements.
- Participate in pre-operative and post-operative care of surgical patients.
- Emergency Duties
- Attend to patients in the Emergency Department as per duty roster.
- Perform resuscitation and stabilization of patients brought in critical condition.
- Interdepartmental Coordination
- Coordinate with labs, radiology, and other hospital departments for investigations, reports, and services required for patient care.
- Facilitate patient transfer to different units (e.g., ICU, OT) and ensure smooth handover of clinical responsibilities.
- Academic Participation
- Attend academic sessions, CMEs, and departmental meetings regularly.
- Actively participate in clinical case presentations, journal clubs, and clinical audits when scheduled.
- Shift and On-Call Duties
- Work in rotating shifts (day/night), weekends, and holidays as per the roster.
- Be available for on-call duties including night rounds and handling sudden medical emergencies.
- Infection Control and Safety
- Follow institutional protocols for infection prevention and biomedical waste management.
- Ensure patient safety and confidentiality at all times.
