Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2025 Age Limit
- Minimum Age Limit: 18 Years
- Maximum Age Limit: 22 Years
- Nvk(GD) for 01/26 & 02/26 batch: Candidate should be born between 01 Aug 2004 to 01 Aug 2008.
- Yantrik for 01/26 batch: Candidate should be born between 01 Mar 2004 to 01 Mar 2008.
- Nvk(DB) for 02/26 batch: Candidate should be born between 01 Aug 2004 to 01 Aug 2008.
Qualification
Navik (General Duty):
- Class 12th passed with Maths and Physics from an education board recognized by Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE).
Navik (Domestic Branch):
- Class 10th passed from an education board recognized by Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE).
Yantrik:
- Class 10th passed from an education board recognized by Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE) and Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical / Electronics/ Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering of duration 03 or 04 years approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).
- Class 10th & Class 12th passed from an education board recognized by Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE) “AND” Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical / Electronics/ Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering of duration 02 or 03 years approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).
Salary
Navik (General Duty):
- Basic pay of ₹ 21700/- (Pay Level-3) plus Dearness Allowance and other allowances based on nature of duty/ place of posting as per the prevailing regulations.
Navik (Domestic Branch):
- Basic Pay Scale for Navik (DB) is ₹ 21700/- (Pay Level-3) plus Dearness Allowance and other allowances based on nature of duty/ place of posting as per the prevailing regulation
Yantrik:
- Basic pay ₹ 29200/- (Pay Level-5). In addition, you will be paid Yantrik pay @ ₹ 6200/- plus Dearness Allowance and other allowances based on nature of duty/place of posting as per the prevailing regulation.

1. Navik (General Duty – GD)
Job Role & Responsibilities:
-
Serve onboard Coast Guard vessels and shore establishments — duties include navigation, deck operations, seamanship, and maritime security tasks like boarding inspections.
-
Involved in search-and-rescue (SAR) missions, enforcement of maritime law, anti-poaching, and anti-smuggling operations.
-
Operate weapons, communication systems, and support routine patrols to safeguard India’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).
Eligibility & Selection:
-
Educational requirement: 12th pass with Maths & Physics. Age: 18–22. Post: 260 vacancies.
-
Physical standards: 1.6 km run in 7 min, 20 squat-ups, 10 push-ups; minimum 157 cm height & 5 cm chest expansion.
2. Navik (Domestic Branch – DB)
Job Role & Responsibilities:
-
Provide crucial support onboard — including cooking, housekeeping, laundry, and general upkeep of living quarters.
Eligibility & Selection:
-
Educational requirement: 10th pass. Same age and physical criteria as GD. 40 vacancies available.
3. Yantrik (Technical Trades)
Job Role & Responsibilities:
-
Technicians responsible for operation & maintenance of mechanical, electrical, aeronautical, or electronics equipment onboard ships and aircraft.

Ensure continuous functioning of advanced sensor systems, power plants, engines, and navigational equipment.
Eligibility & Selection:
-
Qualification: 10th/12th with a 2- to 4-year diploma in relevant engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Telecom).
4. Assistant Commandant (Officer Entry)
Job Role & Responsibilities:
-
Commissioned officer leading teams in search-and-rescue, coastal surveillance, maritime law enforcement, and environment protection.

Can be posted across ships, aircraft air stations, or coastal command centers; train personnel and oversee operational readiness, security drills, and emergency protocols.
Eligibility & Selection:
-
Notification for 140 posts (110 GD, 30 Technical). Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree for GD; Engineering degree for Technical. Age 21–25.
Common Responsibilities Across All Posts:

Search & Rescue (SAR): Respond to maritime distress calls.

Law Enforcement: Enforce maritime laws, check for smuggling, unauthorized fishing.

Environmental Protection: Monitor & respond to oil spills and marine pollution.

Coastal Security: Patrol territorial waters, safeguard offshore installations.
