Salary and Benefits

• The SSC MTS salary structure is based on the 7th Pay Commission recommendations:
• Basic Pay: ₹18,000 per month
• Pay Scale: ₹5,200-20,200 + Grade Pay ₹1,800
• Gross Salary: ₹23,000 - ₹26,000 per month
• In-Hand Salary: ₹16,915 - ₹20,245 per month (after deductions)​

Job Role:

SSC MTS staff are Group 'C' non-gazetted, non-ministerial Central Government employees who perform various support tasks in different government ministries, departments, and offices.

 Key Responsibilities:

1. General Office Work:

   • Physical maintenance of records and files.

   • Carrying of files and papers within the office.

   • Photocopying, sending/receiving fax, and other clerical tasks.

2. Delivery & Outdoor Work:

   • Delivering official documents to other departments/offices.

   • Assisting in routine office work like diary, dispatch, etc.

3. Cleanliness & Upkeep:

   • General cleanliness and upkeep of the office and premises.

   • Maintenance of cleanliness in sections like toilets, meeting halls, etc.

4. Support Services:

   • Assisting in routine non-clerical work.

   • Watch and ward duties (if posted in such sections).

   • Driving, if holding a valid license and assigned the duty.

5. Mail Duties:

   • Carrying out work related to postal and courier handling.

6. Assisting Higher Officials:

   • Assisting senior officials in office-related tasks and during meetings.

 Nature of Job:

• Non-desk, multitasking, and physically active.

• Involves both indoor and outdoor duties.

• Can be posted in any central government ministry/department/office.

 Workplace:

• Central Government Offices across India, including ministries, defense, railways, income tax, etc.
