Job Role: Inspector

Department: Various Punjab State Government Departments (such as Taxation, Food & Civil Supplies, Co-operatives, etc.)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inspection and Monitoring:

  • Conduct inspections of government-regulated institutions, shops, markets, godowns, or cooperative societies.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and standards set by the department.

2. Regulatory Enforcement:

  • Identify violations or irregularities related to tax laws, food and supply chain regulations, cooperative laws, etc.
  • Take necessary legal or administrative actions based on findings.

3. Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare inspection reports and submit findings to senior officers.
  • Maintain records of visits, seizures, actions taken, and case statuses.

4. Public Interaction and Guidance:

  • Educate citizens, traders, and cooperative members about government policies and regulations.
  • Resolve queries and complaints from the public or stakeholders.

5. Coordination and Field Work:

  • Coordinate with other government departments, police, and legal authorities during enforcement drives or inspections.
  • Participate in surprise raids, surveys, and verification drives as directed.

6. Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain registers, inventory lists, and movement records of controlled commodities or assets.
  • Assist senior officials in departmental planning and program implementation.

Job Role: Naib Tehsildar

Department: Department of Revenue and Rehabilitation, Government of Punjab
Post Type: Group ‘B’ (Gazetted) Officer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Revenue Administration:

  • Supervise and manage land revenue collection within the assigned tehsil/sub-tehsil.
  • Oversee the maintenance and updating of land records, including Jamabandis and mutation registers.

2. Land and Property Disputes:

  • Resolve land-related disputes and ensure proper implementation of land reforms.
  • Conduct inquiries into property matters, encroachments, and land ownership issues.

3. Coordination with Patwaris and Kanungos:

  • Supervise the work of Patwaris, Kanungos, and other field-level revenue staff.
  • Ensure timely and accurate land surveys, measurements, and mutation entries.

4. Issuance of Certificates:

  • Authorize and issue various official documents such as caste certificates, domicile/residence certificates, and income certificates.

5. Judicial and Quasi-Judicial Functions:

  • Act as an executive magistrate for specific functions under the CrPC (Code of Criminal Procedure).
  • Handle minor judicial matters related to revenue cases and encroachments.

6. Disaster Management and Relief:

  • Assess crop damage due to natural calamities like floods, droughts, etc.
  • Recommend compensation and maintain coordination with higher authorities during relief operations.

7. Election Duties:

  • Serve as a Returning Officer or Assistant Returning Officer during elections.
  • Ensure law and order in polling areas and oversee election-related administrative functions.

8. Public Grievance Redressal:

  • Act as a point of contact for addressing grievances related to revenue matters and general administration.
  • Conduct public hearings and ensure timely resolution of citizen complaints.

Job Role: Chief Auditor

Department: Department of Cooperation or other Punjab Government Departments
Post Type: Group ‘B’/Gazetted (depending on service rules)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Audits:

  • Conduct and supervise audits of financial accounts and records of cooperative societies, government undertakings, and other entities under departmental jurisdiction.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, auditing practices, and government financial regulations.

2. Examination of Accounts:

  • Scrutinize ledgers, balance sheets, income & expenditure statements, and vouchers to detect discrepancies or irregularities.
  • Examine whether public funds and resources are being used effectively and lawfully.

3. Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare detailed audit reports with observations, objections, and recommendations.
  • Submit reports to higher authorities and follow up on compliance with audit findings.

4. Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the work of subordinate auditors and ensure timely completion of audits.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior audit staff and oversee audit teams during field visits.

5. Fraud Detection and Investigation:

  • Identify financial fraud, embezzlement, or misappropriation of funds.
  • Assist in initiating inquiries and legal actions in case of serious financial irregularities.

6. Compliance Monitoring:

  • Ensure that institutions comply with relevant financial acts, rules, and departmental guidelines.

7. Coordination and Advisory Role:
