Qualification

• Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/ Institute;
• Three-Year Diploma in Engineering Fields.

Salary

• The posts are of Group ‘B’ (Non-Gazetted), Non-Ministerial in Level-6 (Rs. 35400-112400/-) of the Pay Matrix of the 7th Central Pay Commission

1. SSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level) 

• Vacancies: ~14,582 posts across Group B & C positions 

• Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Assistant Audit Officer (AAO): Conduct financial and performance audits, ensure compliance, and collaborate with senior officials 

  • Assistant Section Officer (ASO): Administrative duties, policy implementation, file and document management 

  • Inspector (Income Tax / Central Excise): Enforce tax laws, investigate tax-related cases, field inspections Sub‑Inspector (CBI / CAPF): Law enforcement, investigations, field operations 

  • Junior Statistical Officer (JSO): Data collection, statistical analysis, report preparation 

  • Tax Assistant / Auditor / Accountant / UDC: Record-keeping, financial audits, clerical tasks 

• Pay Scale: Level 4–8 (₹25,500–₹1,51,100); AAO starts at ₹47,600–1,51,100; others vary accordingly 

• Allowances & Benefits: HRA, DA, TA, medical, pension under NPS, leave entitlements, job security

2. SSC CHSL (Combined Higher Secondary Level)

• Vacancies: ~3,131 posts (10+2 eligibility) 

• Job Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC) / Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA): Clerical work, file management, documentation, office coordination 

  • Data Entry Operator (DEO): Computer work, typing, data management, maintaining office databases 

  • Postal / Sorting Assistant (PA/SA): Mail handling/distribution, customer interaction, record-keeping 

• Pay Scale:

  • LDC/JSA: ₹19,900–63,200

  • PA/SA/DEO: ₹25,500–81,100 (Level 4–5) Allowances: DA, HRA, travel, medical, leave benefits 

• Career Growth: LDC → UDC → Section Officer; DEO → higher grades; PA/SA → supervisory roles 

3. SSC JE (Junior Engineer)

• Vacancies: ~1,340 posts in Civil, Electrical & Mechanical streams 

• Role & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and execution of technical projects in CPWD and other government departments.

  • Field supervision, maintenance, quality control, cost estimation, and site inspections.

• Qualification: Degree or Diploma in relevant engineering discipline .

• Pay Scale: Level 6 – ₹35,400–1,12,400

4. SSC Stenographer Grade C & D

• Vacancies: ~261 positions advertised (Grade C & D) .

• Role: Transcription of official proceedings, shorthand typing, secretarial assistance.

• Eligibility: 12th pass with stenography qualifications; typing speed norms apply.

5. SSC Selection Posts & SSC MTS
