 Responsibilities:

While responsibilities vary by position, typical duties include:

1. Technical/Engineering Roles (JE/SSE/Track Maintainer):

• Supervision and inspection of tracks, signals, and rolling stock.

• Maintenance of railway infrastructure.

• Assisting in safety inspections and audits.

• Supervising construction/repair works.

2. Operations Roles (Station Master/Traffic Inspector):

• Monitoring train operations and movement.

• Managing signaling systems.

• Coordinating between control rooms and train stations.

• Ensuring safety protocols are followed in operations.

3. Administrative Roles (Clerical/Office Superintendent):

• Assisting with administrative work and file processing.

• Maintaining records, staff rosters, and payroll support.

• Drafting correspondence and report preparation.

4. Store/Inventory Management Roles:

• Managing procurement, issue, and stock verification of materials.

• Record-keeping for consumables and tools used in operations.

5. Loco/Mechanical Roles:

• Assisting with maintenance schedules of locomotives.

• Monitoring loco performance and technical assistance.

General Conditions:

• Work will be assigned as per previous experience and health fitness.

• Re-engagement is usually on a temporary/contract basis.

• No additional allowances like HRA/TA/DA are generally paid.

• Must not have been removed/dismissed/compulsorily retired earlier.
