Application Fee

Qualification
- Must have passed Intermediate Examination or its equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
- No person shall be eligible for appointment by direct recruitment to the post of FBO / ABO in the Service, unless he is not less than 163 Cms in height not less than 84 Cms round the chest on full inspiration and has a chest expansion of not less than 5 Cms on full inspiration.
- In case of women candidates, they must not be less than 150 Cms in height, not less than 79 Cms round the chest on full inspiration and a chest expansion of not less than 5 Cms on full inspiration.
- Provided the minimum height is relaxable by 5 Cms, in the case of the candidates who belong to Gurkhas, Nepalese, Assamese, NAFA, Naga, Manipur, Gauhati, Kummoni, Sikkimese, Bhutanese and Scheduled Tribes.
- Provided further that in the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribes, where the reserved quota cannot be fully utilized for want of sufficient number of candidates possessing the requisite physical qualifications, the physical standards shall not be less than 158 Cms in height and not less than 78.8 Cms round the chest on full inspiration with a minimum expansion of 5 Cms.
- The candidate should possess normal eye sight apart from the physical requirements prescribed above.
- The eligible candidates selected in written test shall be subjected to the test of walking.
- In case of Male candidates, a distance of 25 Kms walking is to be completed in 4 hours duration. In case of Women candidates, a distance of 16 Kms is to be completed in 4 hours duration.

Forest Beat Officer – Job Role and Responsibilities
The Forest Beat Officer (FBO) plays a crucial role in conserving forests, protecting wildlife, and ensuring enforcement of forest laws within a designated beat (area). This is a field-level position that requires vigilance, physical fitness, and dedication to environmental protection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Forest Protection and Law Enforcement:
- Patrol the assigned forest beat regularly to prevent illegal activities such as deforestation, poaching, encroachment, and smuggling of forest produce.
- Detect, report, and take initial action against violations of forest laws and rules.
- Assist in conducting raids against forest-related crimes in coordination with higher officials and police when needed.
- Wildlife Protection:
- Safeguard wildlife and natural habitats within the beat.
- Monitor wildlife movement and report any unusual activities or emergencies.
- Assist in rescue operations involving injured or stray wild animals.
- Afforestation and Conservation Activities:
- Supervise plantation works and participate in afforestation, reforestation, and regeneration programs.
- Ensure protection and maintenance of planted saplings and nurseries.
- Forest Resource Management:
- Keep records of forest produce, plantations, and other forest resources within the beat.
- Assist in the sustainable extraction of minor forest produce by local communities under regulations.
- Fire Prevention and Control:

Key Responsibilities:
- Support in Forest Protection:
- Assist the Forest Beat Officer in patrolling forest areas to prevent illegal activities like tree felling, encroachments, and smuggling of forest produce.
- Report suspicious or illegal activities to the concerned authorities promptly.
- Wildlife and Habitat Protection:
- Help in safeguarding the wildlife and natural ecosystems.
