Job Role of Senior Resident:
Senior Residents are postgraduates in medical specialties who work in various clinical departments at SCTIMST under the guidance of senior faculty. They play a key role in delivering patient care, participating in academic and research activities, and supporting the overall function of their assigned departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care:
- Provide daily clinical care to inpatients and outpatients under supervision.
- Assist in diagnostic, therapeutic, and operative procedures.
- Manage emergencies, conduct patient rounds, and maintain clinical records.
- Clinical Duties:
- Participate in departmental rosters including night duties and on-call services.
- Perform preoperative and postoperative management of patients.
- Handle ICU responsibilities if assigned.
- Academic and Teaching Activities:
- Engage in teaching medical students, interns, and junior residents.
- Attend clinical meetings, journal clubs, case presentations, and seminars.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in the medical field.
- Research and Publications:
- Assist in ongoing research projects of the department.
- Contribute to clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.
- Prepare manuscripts for publication under faculty guidance.
- Administrative Support:
- Maintain proper documentation as per hospital norms.
