AURANGABAD: Aarti Pal, resident of Aurangabad, bags gold medal in 6th Asian Yoga Sports championship held at Hanoi, Vietnam.
The event was organized from September 3 to 5, 2016. The championship drew the participation of yogis from 16 countries and territories in Asia including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Iran, India, the UAE, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea, China, Taiwan, and the host nation Vietnam.
Aarti was selected for the competition on the basis of gold medal that she had secured in the 40th National Yoga Championship held at Mangalore in Karnataka.
Aarti has been practicing yoga from past 12 years. When she started learning yoga she was just 13 years old from yoga guru Atmaram Tiwari. At present, she is working as yoga teacher in Riverdale High School, in Aurangabad and is also pursuing Ph.D in yoga.
Till now Aarti has 22 national and 6 international medals to her credit. She has also been awarded as Miss Yogini of World 2010.
Meanwhile, the 7th Asian Yoga Sports Championship will be held in the year 2017 at Singapore as decided in the annual general meeting of Asian Yoga Federation.
