Bachelor of Science in Nutrition is an undergraduate Nutrition and Dietetics course. Nutrition or nourishment or aliment is the provision by which the necessary materials (in the form of food) are given to cells and organisms to support life. B.Sc. Nutrition program provides students with a comprehensive education that merges the science of nutrition with a broader view of wellness, community and the environment. Nutrition also considers why people choose to eat the foods they do, even after they have been advised that doing so may be unhealthy. The duration of the course is three years and the syllabus for the course is divided into six semesters. The course is an important and career orienting in nature that opens many jobs for the applicants after it completion.
How is B.Sc. Nutrition Course Beneficial?
• After completing the course they can also work as consultants or do private practice.
• They can also find openings in the mass media where top priority is given to disseminating vital information on healthy living.
• They can go for Master’s degree and then for further research work.
• They can become teachers in private schools and after having passed certain qualifications such as B.Ed. and other degrees can go for permanent jobs.
Eligibility
• Students should be passed in class 12th in Science with minimum 50% (45% for SC/ST) or equivalent CGPA.
