Reliance AGM 2025: Ambanis announce AI-powered Riya, electronics, and device
At its 48th Annual General Meeting, Reliance Industries put artificial intelligence front and center, positioning the conglomerate as a leader in India’s AI revolution. Akash Ambani outlined how AI is being embedded across Reliance’s businesses, from telecom and energy to digital services and media.
“AI can now be called the Kamdhenu, the divine wish-fulfilling cow of our lives,” Mukesh Ambani said. “We see these transformations not as distant possibilities, but as immediate opportunities. We are developing AI as a new growth engine, besides embedding it across all our businesses to take India forward.”
One of the marquee launches is Riya, a voice-enabled search assistant for JioHotstar. Ambani explained: “Your new voice-enabled search assistant makes discovering content effortless. Whether it's key moments from my favorite shows, highlights of players, or deep-dive match analysis, Riya understands you. Just say what you want across years, seasons, and episodes, and Riya will curate it for you. No more scrolling, no more searching.”
Riya also brings multilingual AI experiences to users. “For the first time, you will be able to enjoy sports in your favorite Indian language without losing the magic of the original platform. Your favorite stars won’t just appear, they will speak in your language, in their own voice, with perfect lip sync on screen.”
AI-powered JioPC and JioFrames
Ambani also introduced JioPC, a product that transforms TVs or any screen into AI-ready cloud computers. “You can connect a keyboard to your Jio Set-Top Box and instantly access a virtual computer powered from Jio’s cloud. It’s always up-to-date, secure, and you only pay for what you use. Memory, storage, and computing power can be upgraded remotely as your needs grow.”
JioFrames,, its first smart glasses is another AI-powered innovation, integrates voice assistants across devices and supports multiple Indian languages. Users can capture photos, record videos, store them instantly in Jio AI Cloud, and interact with AI in day-to-day activities, from cooking to reading, without touching a screen.
The feature automatically adapts to individual preferences, whether it’s keeping score overlays visible during a match, switching languages on the fly, or opening commentary tracks as pop-outs. The interface adjusts to the device in use, be it a phone, tablet, or smart TV, and lets viewers toggle between different content modules without leaving the screen.
“With JioLenZ, you can explore multiple viewing options that adapt to your personal preferences in a single click,” Akash Ambani said. “It’s your content, on your screen, exactly the way you want to see it.”
JioStar: AI-driven media revolution
The company also highlighted JioStar, a media platform leveraging AI to reshape content consumption. Ambani said, “JioStar offers 320,000 hours of content, six times more than the next two OTT platforms combined, with 30,000 hours added every year. Advanced AI tools empower viewers to discover, interact, and enjoy content like never before.”
AI-native infrastructure and services
Jio is building what Ambani called the world’s first AI-native digital ecosystem. From Gen AI-enabled customer journeys to AI-powered diagnostics and automation, the company is integrating intelligence at every touchpoint. “Our systems are event-driven, API-enabled, with Gen AI at the forefront,” he noted.
AI is also powering connectivity. JioAirFiber now serves over one million homes per month, while True 5G ensures speed, reliability, and reach. Last year, the launch of Jio AI Cloud, offering up to 100GB of free storage to users, saw over 40 million Indians securely backing up photos, files, and videos.
Ambani emphasised the broader mission: “AI Everywhere for Everyone. We are equipping homes, businesses, and individuals with scalable AI tools, making India the world’s first AI-native digital economy.”
With these launches, Reliance is not just enhancing services, it is building the infrastructure, platforms, and experiences that will define India’s AI-powered future.
Reliance to partner with Google, Meta for AI
Mukesh Ambani said Jio played a crucial role in enabling platforms like Aadhaar, UPI, and Jan Dhan direct transfers, empowering a new generation of Indians.
