A digital film maker is a creative professional responsible for managing various stages of digital video production, including pre-production (planning, budgeting, script development), production (shooting with digital cameras, managing crews), and post-production (editing, sound mixing, color grading) to create compelling visual content for films, television, and online platforms. Key responsibilities include developing a creative vision, collaborating with a team, handling technical aspects of digital equipment, and ensuring the final product meets the project's objectives. 

Key Responsibilities

   Pre-Production:

  • Researching and developing scripts, themes, and visual concepts. 
  • Creating shot lists and storyboards to outline the visual approach. 
  • Securing locations, managing budgets, and planning production schedules. 

    Production:

  • Directing camera and lighting crews, determining optimal lighting and color for scenes. 
  • Operating and overseeing digital camera equipment and other production gear. 
  • Collaborating with actors, directors, and other crew members to bring the creative vision to life. 

     Post-Production:

  • Editing raw footage into a coherent and engaging final product. 
  • Overseeing sound editing, color grading, and the addition of visual effects. 
  • Reformatting content for various digital platforms, including social media. 

     Collaboration and Management:

  • Working closely with directors, writers, and other filmmakers to interpret scripts and develop the overall vision. 
  • Communicating effectively with team members and providing clear direction to inspire and manage crew members. 
  • Providing a point of liaison between the set and post-production teams to ensure a smooth workflow. 

      Required Skills

     Creativity and Vision: 

A strong ability to develop compelling narratives and translate ideas into impactful visuals. 

  • Technical Proficiency: 

Expert knowledge of digital cameras, editing software, and other film production equipment.

The ability to guide and motivate production crews throughout the filmmaking process.

Excellent communication skills to collaborate with various team members and stakeholders.

The ability to adapt to challenges on set and find creative solutions.

  • Developing and conceptualizing story ideas
  • Scriptwriting and script editing
  • Directing actors and crew during filming
  • Managing production schedules and budgets
  • Coordinating with producers and financiers
  • Overseeing the design and technical aspects of film production
  • Conducting casting and auditions
  • Leading pre-production meetings and set rehearsals
  • Supervising the editing and post-production process
  • Ensuring all filming equipment is properly set up and maintained
  • Collaborating with composers for the film's soundtrack
  • Reviewing and approving final cuts of the film
  • Promoting and marketing the finished film

Qualifications & Skills
