Bachelor of Science in Garment Manufacturing is an undergraduate Fashion Designing programme. Garment manufacturing technology is a three year graduate program which focuses on strengthening of key technological functions of apparel industry. This course helps them to understand industrial engineering and ergonomic techniques. The particular course places an emphasis on production, planning, control and management practices applicable in the apparel industry. The continuous interaction with the industry and visits to leading manufacturing units create an enriching learning environment for the students. Course also exposes students to the core topics like  pattern making, basic garment construction,  garment production machinery & equipment, textile science, basic applied science, dyeing and printing, introduction to knitting, fabric and garment finishing, computer science and information technology, apparel production and control, costing of apparel products.

How is B.Sc. Garment Manufacturing Course Beneficial?

  • The degree course gives good base for higher degree programs in respective subjects, e.g. Masters’ degree, etc.
  • Candidates can become teacher on private basis at the school level after its completion.
  • They can also start their own private business and those who have already established business; it is very beneficial for them.
  • They can also become Fashion Consultant in many garment producing units.

 Eligibility    

  • A candidate who has passed 10+2 with minimum 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of SC/ST candidate) or any other equivalent qualification.
  • Some of the very reputed institutes conduct entrance examination for admission.
