Intensive care unit technicians are health care scientists who ensure the safe and effective use of technological systems used in the care of critically ill patients. An intensive care unit (ICU), also known as an intensive therapy unit or intensive treatment unit (ITU) or critical care unit (CCU), is a special department of a hospital or health care facility that provides intensive treatment medicine.

Eligibility Criteria for BSS ICU Technician

• The applicant must be completed Tenth standard or Twelfth or its equivalent from a recognized school board.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Should respond quickly and competently to medical emergencies.

• Should be able to understand quickly about the problems and begins implementing medical aid when entering an accident scene.

• A critical care technician are trained to respond quickly with patients who suffer heart attacks, falls, childbirth, gunshot wounds, assaults, and automobile accidents.

• Provide basic patient care under direction of nursing staff.

• Support the administrative and clinical operations of the practice.

• Prepare, update and disseminates unit reports, physician orders and patient records.

• Provide basic therapeutic services under direction of nursing staff.
