Yoga is essentially the art and science of healthy living which focuses on bringing harmony between the body and mind. The word 'Yoga' has two meanings; the first comes from the root 'Yujir' or 'Union', and the second is derived from a different root 'Yuja' which means 'Samadhi' - the highest state of mind and absolute knowledge. These two are the most important meanings of the word Yoga according to Panini, the most well-known Sanskrit grammarian.
