An apiary (bee yard) is a location where beehives of honey bees are kept. Apiaries come in many sizes and can be rural or urban depending on the honey production operation. An apiary technician will take care of the apiary and bees that they farm or grow.
Eligibility Criteria for Apiary Technician

The applicant must be completed Tenth standard or Twelfth or its equivalent from a recognized school board.

Duties and Responsibilities
-
Handle, feed and care for honey bee colonies in a manner appropriate for the season.
-
Co-ordinate the production of queen cells, nucs, queens &/or replacement hives.
-
Recognize, report and monitor hive health issues & apply appropriate cures/controls.
-
Move hives.
-
Collect and package honey, pollen &/or beeswax.
-
Supervise employees.
-
Drive & maintain vehicles (including large trucks) & forklifts.
-
Bee yard maintenance.
-
Manufacture, assemble & maintain hive equipment.
-
Operate & maintain other apiary related equipment.
-
Keep field and/or production records.
-
Interact with external farm personnel (ex. owners of apiary locations, supply companies)
Skills

Truck/Forklift/Equipment basic operation and maintenance

Handyman & hand tool skills

First Aid / CPR
Higher Studies after Apiary Technician
-
Students who have completed three months of Apiary Technician course after Tenth or Twelfth are eligible to get admission to the related courses or its equivalent.
