Bangalore University splits to 3, to form new varsities to offer skill based courses

The new university, along with its twin Bangalore Central University - also to be carved out of Bangalore University, will start functioning from next academic year.

The split will be in the way that now Bangalore University will be divided into North, South and Central area. And, the institution impartingskill based eductaion will be the state-run Bangalore North University . 

"I don't want this to become just another university," said TD Kemparaju, the Mangalore University registrar, tasked with the creation of the Bangalore North University as a special officer. 

“Why create only MA or MCom graduates? It's not extensive subject knowledge but soft skills that employers look for. We are exploring diplomas and skill-oriented courses with market-based components," he said. 
The Bangalore North University will have 176 colleges under its purview, covering the assembly constituencies of Krishnaraja Puram, Sarvagnanagar, Sir CV Raman Nagar and Mahadevapura besides Kolar and Chikballapur districts. It will be initially headquartered in Kolar. 

Other than this,  professor S Japhet of National Law School of India University is looking to put forward a vision document for the Bangalore Central University as its special officer.
