NEZCC conducts Women skill development -----The inauguration of the five-day women skilled development workshop was held on October 3 in Mezoma village.


Dimapur, October 4: The inauguration of the five-day women skilled development workshop was held on October 3 in Mezoma village. The workshop is being organised by the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) Dimapur, Ministry of Culture Government of India, in association with Cultureguard. The workshop will conclude on October 7.
 

The inaugural programme was graced by T Husie Kuotsu, Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF), Department of Forest, Environment & Climate Change, as the chief guest, who is also one of the ‘Kikrakrü’ in the village.
 

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest stressed on the need maintain one’s identity through preservation of culture and traditions and sought to transfer the aged-old practices beyond the village.
 

He also urged to develop new ideas and combine with the standard passed down to our generation to enrich/promote our culture. Besides, he asked the women to develop skills instead of asking from others during special occasions. He felt that there is a great need to organise similar event for men folk also which will go a long way in preservation the culture.
 

The village council chairman, Thepfükuolie, also spoke on the occasion and appealed the participants to avail maximum advantage from the workshop. He also expressed gratitude to NEZCC Dimapur under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, for organising the rare activity in the village.
 

Altogether 33 participants are undergoing the workshop. The programme was chaired by Rajuselie Lhousa, chairman of Cultureguard, while the invocation prayer was said by Rüülhoukho Khawakhrie, and the vote of thanks was pronounced by KuosevoCasavi, senior artiste.
