B.Voc in C.S.S.D Technology is an undergraduate course.The C.S.S.D (Central sterile Supply Department) alocates the reproducable medical and surgical instruments used in health care settings.The CSSD is taking a key role in hospital-acquired infection control.

Patients receiving health care are at risk of developing infection as a result of their compromised cleaning, disinfection & sterilization protocols or during instrument reprocessing. This course is aimed at equipping healthcare professionals with the knowledge of the standard protocols,complexities and challenges connected with the CSSD function and the broad working skills required to deliver a high standard of care for patients and the healthcare fraternity.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Voc in C.S.S.D Technology

• Students who completed plus two and one year of BSS diploma course in C.S.S.D Technician is eligible to get direct admission to the second year of B. Voc course (3rd semester)

• Those who qualified SSLC and one year of BSS diploma course in C.S.S.D Technician are eligible to get admission in the B.Voc course 

• Students who completed plus two and two year of BSS diploma course in C.S.S.D Technology is eligible to get direct admission to the third year of B. Voc course (5th semester)

• Those who qualified SSLC and two year of BSS diploma course in C.S.S.D Technology are eligible to get direct admission to the second year of B.Voc course (3rd semester)

Course Duration

• Three years for those who enter into the course generally.

• Candidates who completed BSS diploma course are possible to get admission through lateral entry scheme (For further reference check Eligibility criteria section)

Objectives

The Candidates will be able to

• Clean, disinfect and distribute sterilized instrumentation and equipment to an emergency department, intensive care unit, the labor and delivery unit, operating room and other areas of health care facilities in a scientific manner

• Contribute to a team of central sterile processing professionals who are all working together to maintain sterilization and storage.

• To prepare CSSD professionals to practice appropriate Infection control protocols
