Automobile technology courses offer the students about the techniques of installing, maintaining, repairing and replacing automotive parts. Those who are passionate on working with various parts of vehicles such as brake systems, engines, electrical and steering systems etc. can choose this course.

B.Voc. Automobile is usually a 3-year undergraduate program, the least eligibility criteria are 10+2 from a reputed college or its equivalent examination.

 

Eligibility Criteria for B. Voc in Automobile Technology

 

Students who have completed plus two are eligible to get admission in the B.Voc course.

Lateral Entries

  • Those who have qualified SSLC and completed two years of BSS diploma course in Automobile Technology are eligible to get direct admission to the second year of B.Voc course (3rd semester).

  • Students who have completed plus two and two years of BSS diploma course in Automobile Technology are eligible to get direct admission to the third year of B. Voc course (5th  semester).

  • Students who have qualified SSLC and completed one year of BSS Diploma Automobile Engineering Techniques are eligible to get direct admission to the first year of B.Voc course (first semester).

  •  

    Students who have completed plus two and one years of BSS Diploma Automobile Engineering Techniques are eligible to get direct admission to the second year of B. Voc course (third semester).

 

Course Duration

 

  • Three years for those who enter into the course generally.

  • Candidates who completed BSS Diploma course are possible to get admission through lateral entry scheme (For further reference check Eligibility criteria section)

Job Duties

 

  • Examine vehicles, compile estimates of repair costs, and secure customers' approval to perform repairs.

  • Repair, overhaul, or adjust automobile brake systems.

  • Troubleshoot fuel, ignition, and emissions control systems, using electronic testing equipment.

  • Repair or replace defective ball joint suspensions, brake shoes, or wheel bearings.

  • Inspect and test new vehicles for damage and record findings so that necessary repairs can be made.

  • Test electronic computer components in automobiles to ensure proper operation.

  • Tune automobile engines to ensure proper and efficient functioning.

  • Install or repair air conditioners and service components, such as compressors, condensers, and controls.

  • Repair, replace, or adjust defective fuel injectors, carburetor parts, and gasoline filters.

  • Remove and replace defective mufflers and tailpipes.

  • Repairing - Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.

  • Operation and Control - Controlling operations of equipment or systems.

  • Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

  • Equipment Maintenance - Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.

  • Operation Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.

  • Troubleshooting - Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.

  • Complex Problem Solving - Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

  • Judgment and Decision Making - Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.

  • Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

  • Equipment Selection - Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
