Eligibility Criteria for B. Voc in Primary Education 

  • Students who have completed plus two are eligible to get admission in the B. Voc in Primary Education course.

  • Students who have qualified SSLC and completed one year of BSS Diploma in Primary Education are eligible to get direct admission to the first year of B. Voc in Primary Education course (first semester).

  • Students who have completed plus two and one years of BSS Diploma in Primary Education are eligible to get direct admission to the second year of B. Voc in Primary Education course (third semester).

  • Students who have qualified SSLC and completed two year of BSS Diploma in Pre Primary Education are eligible to get direct admission to the second year of B. Voc in Primary Education course (third semester).

  • Students who have completed plus two and two years of BSS Diploma in Pre Primary Education  are eligible to get direct admission to the third year of B. Voc in Primary Education course (fifth semester).

 

Course Duration

  • Three years for those who enter into the course generally.

  • Candidates who completed BSS Diploma course are possible to get admission through lateral entry scheme (For further reference check Eligibility criteria section)

 

Job Duties

  • Preparing daily and long-term lesson plans according to curriculum guidelines.

  • Teaching a full range of subject areas.

  • Developing children’s interests, abilities and coordination using a variety of creative activities including art, sport and music.

  • Maintaining productive working habits and discipline in the classroom.

  • Supervising students throughout the day, both in the classroom and outside during breaks.

  • Attending staff meetings and training and development sessions.

  • Assessing and evaluating students’ educational progress and abilities.

  • Setting and conducting testing.

  • Discussing students’ progress with parents and guardians, administrators and other professionals as necessary.

  • Organising, attending and supervising school activities such as excursions, school concerts, camps and sporting events.

  • Taking responsibility for the progress of a class of primary-age pupils

  • Organising the classroom and learning resources and creating displays to encourage a positive learning environment

  • Planning, preparing and presenting lessons that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the class

  • Motivating pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation

  • Maintaining discipline

  • Preparing and marking work to facilitate positive pupil development

  • Meeting requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils' development

  • Providing feedback to parents and carers on a pupil's progress at parents' evenings and other meetings

  • Coordinating activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, and supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area

  • Working with others to plan and coordinate work

  • Keeping up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum

  • Organising and taking part in school events, outings and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening

  • Liaising with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly in smaller schools

  • Working with parents and school governors to maximise their involvement in the school and the development of resources for the school

  • Meeting with other professionals such as education welfare officers and educational psychologists, if required.
