Eligibility Criteria for B. Voc in Physiotherapy and Acupressure

  • Students who have completed plus two are eligible to get admission in the B.Voc course generally.

  • Those who have qualified SSLC and completed two year of BSS Diploma in Physiotherapy and Acupressure are eligible to get admission in second year of B.Voc in Physiotherapy and Acupressure course (third semester).

  • Students who have completed Plus two and two year of BSS Diploma in Physiotherapy and Acupressure are eligible to get direct admission in third year of B. Voc in Physiotherapy and Acupressure course (fifth semester).

  • Those who have qualified SSLC and completed one year of Certificate in Sujock Acupuncture are eligible to get admission in first year of B. Voc in Physiotherapy and Acupressure course (first semester).

  • Students who have completed Plus Two and one year of Certificate in Sujock Acupuncture are eligible to get admission in first year of B. Voc in Physiotherapy and Acupressure course (first semester).

 

Course Duration

  • Three years for those who enter into the course generally.

  • Candidates who have completed relevant and equivalent course are possible to get admission through lateral entry scheme (For further reference check Eligibility criteria section).

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Carefully listening to the problems of the patient

  • Examining and diagnosing patient's symptoms, physiological disorders and injuries

  • Taking patient's medical history, their physical and emotional health, lifestyle and diet as well as sometimes taking their blood pressure

  • Recommend therapeutic exercise or dietary guidelines to the patients

  • Helping patients recover from accident, illness or injury

  • Organising therapeutic physical exercise sessions

  • Providing massages

  • Using specialist techniques such as electrotherapy and ultrasound

  • Writing reports

  • Liaising with professionals such as doctors and nurses

  • Providing education and advice about exercise and movement

  • Keeping up to date with the latest advancements in the profession

  • Collecting patient information and writing reports

  • Educating and advising patients on how to prevent and/or improve their condition

  • Self-education to keep up to date with new techniques and technologies

  • Communicating with other healthcare professionals to holistically treat a patient

  • Being legally accountable and responsible

  • Managing workplace risk

  • Monitor patients’ progress
