B.Voc in Optometry is a degree course in the advanced study of the clinical skills involved in professionally measuring eyesight, prescribing corrective lenses, and detecting eye diseases. Successful graduates of the course get employment across both private and government sectors, in areas such as eye clinics, optician showrooms, contact lens and ophthalmic lens industry, hospital eye department, optical shops etc. with a monthly pay ranging around INR 15K and 30K at an initial level, varying with the candidate’s expertise in the field.

Eligibility Criteria for B. Voc in Optometry

• Students who completed plus two and two year of BSS Diploma course in Optometry is eligible to get direct admission to the third year of B. Voc course (5^th semester)

• Those who qualified SSLC and two year of BSS Diploma course in Optometry are qualified for the B. Voc degree course in Optometry.

Course Duration

• Three years for those who enter into the course generally.

• Candidates who completed BSS diploma course and Certificate course are possible to get admission through lateral entry scheme (For further reference check Eligibility criteria section)
