Both Nutritionists and dietitians are health professionals, those who create diets for people. Teaching patients about healthy eating is a primary duty, as well as staying aware of developments in medicine and nutrition. However, there is a difference between dietetics and nutrition: dietetics focuses on food management, whereas nutrition focuses on the promotion of health through healthy food.

 

Eligibility Criteria for B.Voc in Nutrition & Dietetics 

 

  • Students who completed plus two and one year of BSS certificate course in Dietician is eligible to get direct admission to the second year of B. Voc course (3rd semester)

  • Those who qualified SSLC and one year of BSS certificate course in Dietician are eligible to get the admission in  B.Voc course(3rd semester)

 

Course Duration


 

  • Three years for those who enter into the course generally.

  • Candidates who completed BSS diploma course are possible to get admission through lateral entry scheme (For further reference check Eligibility criteria section)

 

Skills required

 

  • Organizational abilities

  • Teamwork

  • Aptitude for Science

  • A Keen interest in health and diet

  • Understanding of people from varied backgrounds

 

Common tasks of nutritionist or dietician include-

 

  • Scientific study of nutrition and food science

  • Provide guidance on eating habits and nutrition to people

  • Plant diets according to the needs of patient/client

  • Conduct or take part in research activity (depending upon qualification)
